Cookie Policy

Version v1.0 · Effective date: 15 June 2026 · Last reviewed: 15 June 2026

1. Overview

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which cookies Ocean Voyager Marine Electronics A.Ş. ("Ocean Voyager", "we", "us") sets on this website and Partner Portal, and what choices you have.

Ocean Voyager operates a minimal cookie footprint. We use only one strictly necessary cookie. We do not currently use analytics, performance, marketing, or any third-party tracking cookies. Optional cookie categories are listed below for transparency and to allow you to manage future preferences.

You can review and change your preferences at any time on our Cookie Preferences page.

2. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information across pages — for example, whether you are logged in. Cookies are distinct from browser localStorage; we use localStorage solely to store your cookie consent preferences on the client side (no server-side cookie is set for this purpose).

3. Cookie Categories and Legal Basis

We classify cookies into four categories. The table below documents all categories and whether any cookies in that category are currently active.

CategoryConsent RequiredCurrently ActiveLegal Basis
EssentialNoYesStrictly necessary (ePrivacy Directive Recital 25; KVKK Art. 5(2)(c))
AnalyticsYesNoConsent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a); KVKK Art. 5(1))
PerformanceYesNoConsent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a); KVKK Art. 5(1))
MarketingYesNoConsent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a); KVKK Art. 5(1))

4. Essential Cookies — Always Active

Essential cookies are strictly necessary for the website to function. They cannot be disabled because the site cannot operate securely without them. No consent is required to set these cookies.

Cookie NamePurposeDurationHTTP-OnlySecureSameSite
ov_sessionStores a signed JWT (JSON Web Token) that identifies your authenticated session in the Partner Portal and Admin Panel. Without this cookie you cannot remain logged in. The token is cryptographically signed — it cannot be forged without the server secret.7 days from authentication, or until logoutYesYes (HTTPS only)Lax

That is the complete list of essential cookies. No other cookies are set by this website.

5. Analytics Cookies — Optional, Currently Not Active

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the site — which pages are most visited, where visitors come from, and how they navigate. This information is used in aggregate form to improve the site experience.

Analytics cookies are currently not deployed on this website. If we introduce analytics tools in the future, we will update this policy before doing so and will request your consent prior to setting any analytics cookies. You may withdraw your consent for analytics at any time via the Cookie Preferences page.

6. Performance Cookies — Optional, Currently Not Active

Performance cookies monitor site speed, error rates, and technical reliability. They help us identify bottlenecks and technical problems that affect the user experience.

Performance cookies are currently not deployed on this website. Should we introduce performance monitoring tools, we will update this policy and obtain your consent before activating them.

7. Marketing Cookies — Optional, Currently Not Active

Marketing cookies are used to track visitors across websites and display targeted advertisements relevant to your interests. They may be set by third-party advertising networks.

Marketing cookies are currently not deployed on this website. Ocean Voyager does not use advertising networks, retargeting services, or social media tracking pixels. If this changes, we will update this policy and request fresh consent.

8. Consent Management

8.1 How We Obtain Consent

On your first visit, a consent banner is displayed at the bottom of the screen. The banner offers three choices: Accept All, Reject Optional Cookies, or Manage Preferences (which opens a detailed preference panel).

Only essential cookies are active before you make a choice. No optional category cookies are loaded prior to your consent. This complies with the GDPR opt-in requirement under Article 7 and the Turkish KVKK consent provisions.

8.2 Default Consent State

All optional cookie categories (analytics, performance, marketing) are set to disabled by default. Clicking "Accept All" enables all categories. Clicking "Reject Optional Cookies" or closing the banner without choosing preserves the default disabled state for optional categories while keeping essential cookies active.

8.3 Withdrawing or Changing Consent

You may withdraw or modify your consent at any time by visiting the Cookie Preferences page. Changes take effect immediately in your browser. Your updated preference is also logged server-side for compliance auditing.

8.4 Consent Storage

Your consent choice is stored in your browser's localStorage under the key ov_cookie_consent. This is not a cookie — it is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted automatically with every request. Your consent decision is also sent to our server once to create a timestamped audit record. The server record stores:

  • A unique consent ID (generated in your browser)
  • The consent decisions made (which categories were accepted/rejected)
  • The timestamp of the decision
  • Your IP address and browser user-agent at the time of consent
  • The policy version that was in effect

9. Consent Audit Trail

Every consent action — including initial consent, preference changes, and withdrawals — generates an immutable audit record in our database. Audit records are append-only and are never overwritten or deleted. This audit trail exists to demonstrate compliance with GDPR Article 7(1) and KVKK Article 12.

Action TypeDescription
ACCEPTED_ALLUser clicked 'Accept All'
REJECTED_OPTIONALUser clicked 'Reject Optional Cookies'
UPDATED_PREFERENCESUser saved custom preferences via the preference panel
WITHDRAWNUser withdrew previously granted consent

10. Policy Versioning

This policy is versioned. The current version is v1.0. Every consent record stored server-side includes the policy version that was in effect at the time of consent. If we materially change this policy, we will increment the version number, update the effective date, and display the consent banner again to collect fresh consent.

11. Third-Party Cookies

We do not use any third-party cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Hotjar, Intercom, Zendesk, or any other third-party tracking, analytics, or advertising service.

12. Retention Periods

ItemRetention PeriodBasis
ov_session cookie7 days (expires automatically); deleted immediately on logoutSession management

13. How to Control or Delete Cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

Deleting the ov_session cookie will log you out of the Partner Portal. Blocking it will prevent you from logging in.

To remove your localStorage consent record, use your browser's developer tools (Application → Local Storage → remove ov_cookie_consent), or simply use the Cookie Preferences page.

14. GDPR and KVKK Compliance

This cookie policy and our consent management system are designed to comply with:

  • EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2016/679, Articles 6, 7 and Recital 32
  • EU ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC (Cookie Directive) and its national implementations
  • Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) No. 6698, Articles 5, 10 and 12

All optional cookies are opt-in. No profiling or tracking occurs without affirmative consent. Consent is freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous as required by GDPR Article 7 and KVKK Article 3(1)(d).

15. Changes to This Policy

If we introduce new cookies or materially change how we use cookies, we will update this page (incrementing the version number and effective date) and display the consent banner again. For changes that affect authenticated partners, we will also send notification by email.
